2016 Fulbright U.S–ASEAN Visiting Scholar Program

The U.S. Embassy in Yangon is pleased to announce the 2016 U.S.–ASEAN Visiting Scholar Program. The Fulbright U.S–ASEAN Visiting Scholar Program is an academic program for scholars from ASEAN member countries to travel to the U.S. for scholarly and professional research for 3-4 months on issues that are relevant and useful to ASEAN member states, and central to the U.S. ASEAN relationship. A scholar will be placed at a host university in the United States and will conduct research in his/her relevant field. The scope of the research must be proposed in the application, but the exact details of the research will be discussed between the scholar and the host university. Thus, the scholar can expect to spend the majority of his/her time conducting research. In addition, the scholar can expect to attend seminars, workshops, and conferences, as well as to give talks and lectures. The 2016 Fulbright U.S–ASEAN Visiting Scholar Program will start in September 2016 and ends in end of December 2016.
